I've just finished editing and tidying up 30 items for sale on ebay. This has been something OH and I have been running for almost two years, so far it has paid for our expenses in Australia, and a two-week holiday in the Czech Republic. All this, from stuff we own but no longer need!
It goes without saying that though we are rank amateurs when it comes to running a business, we do approach the whole ebay thing with a hint of professionalism. For a start, we try to be as clear and accurate as possible in our listings, and we are honest when it comes to postage costs. We also treat buyers fairly, so if a blemish on an item is not mentioned in the description, we'll refund them if there is a complaint.
All in all, I only do it (for the money) to get rid of the ever-growing clutter in the house! Anyone got any ebay stories out there?

I've had occasional problems with buyers (never with sellers luckily) but the biggest problem I ever had was with eBay itself who decided to charge me my fees twice in the same month and made me overdrawn. It took me three months to sort it out with them - they seem to have the worst Customer Service in the world. You can only contact them by email and they seem to employ idiots. I like eBay and find it much better, for me anyway, than Amazon Marketplace.
